Fundraiser for Rio...
The Team at Kool Glow would like to formally congratulate the Australian Eventing team for their fantastic Result in attaining the BRONZE medal at the Rio Olympics.
Earlier this year we were proud to be one of the sponsors of an Olympic Fundraiser Ball organised by Heath Ryan and his team, donating 8 bags of Kool Glow to the cause
The Goal- To raise an unheard of $150,000 and if everyone has a go $200,000!!!!
Why this money?- The Rio de Janeiro Olympics, due to exotic diseases, comes with some difficult quarantine restrictions for the Australian based riders. Riding at the Olympics for your country does take courage. The costs involved with some of these efforts exceeded $100,000 of privately sourced monies. As Australians we are dedicated to keeping equestrian sports accessible to everyone. Not just the rich. The Australian Olympic team is to represent our best team as opposed to those riders who can best source funds. The Olympic Fundraiser Ball will endeavor to distribute up to $10,000 per horse who have an intent to come home to Australia to continue competing. It is this competition interaction with our international riders that we at home can look forward to our generation of tomorrow benefiting and going forward to bigger and better Australian performances. The Olympic Fundraiser Ball is investing in our riders of the future and our Olympic performances of the future!
We are pleased to publish this thank you letter from Stuart Tinney:
Dear Patrons,
This is a huge Thank you to you all. I can't thank you enough for your amazing support. Your contribution to the cause of 'bringing the horses home' via Ryan's fundraiser is outstanding. Today I personally received a deposit from the fundraiser whom you all attended or gave to. What a wonderful moment !
It is a huge preparation prior and during the Games, not only for me but for PLUTO, plus my team that surrounds me. The Olympics for me is an intensive preparation and takes its toll in so many platforms. I have returned to Australia after settling in PLUTO in his quarantine. He will spend 2.5 months in the UK, then another 2 weeks in Melbourne then transported back to us here in Sydney just prior to Christmas. He will have had a well earned rest.
I am so proud of my eventing team members plus their contribution to getting the BRONZE we were unlucky to not get the GOLD but lucky to get the BRONZE as it unfolded, it must have been nail biting for all watching, however for us is was almost destroying!!
As a family it certainly hits the pocket in a Championship year and the sacrifices are all round.
Again we are so grateful for your generosity and donations. We cannot forget Heath who just is an amazing driving force in our sport, has incredible energy and passion.
Finally this type of support goes a long way to maintain one's enthusiasm and faith in what we do. I love Australia and feel honoured to have stood on that podium ( twice now) and have made it happen from home soil.
Yours truly,
Stuart Tinney and family.
